Not one, but TWO Mock Drafts

It's draft day and I sat down during the children's nap time to write up two mock drafts. One with trades and one without.

In the mock draft with trades I give reasoning behind the picks, and trades. In the mock draft without trades I just jam through the first round. A note about the draft without trades, I was 7/8 done and realized Justin Herbert and Jordan Love, both of whom are projected to go in the 1st round, were not picked. So I went back and put them in some likely landing spots.

Without further ado here are the drafts:

Mock with trades
1. Bengals – Joe Burrow, QB, LSU
No one is expecting anything less than the Bengals picking Burrow.

2. Washington Professional Football Team – Chase Young, DE, OSU
Here is another consensus pick. The WPFT with Ron Rivera acquires the top player in the draft.

3. Dolphins – Mekhi Becton, OT, Louisville
The Dolphins trade the #18, 26, 39, and a 2021 second round pick to move up two slots, and ahead of the Giants to take Becton.

4. Giants – Jedrick Wills, OT, Alabama
Giants could very well go with Okudah here since he is available, but they need to upgrade the o-line to protect Daniel Jones too, and in this scenario they go the ladder.

5. Dolphins – Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Alabama
The ‘Phins get a blind side protector and then their QB.

6. Falcons – Jeff Okudah, CB, OSU
Falcons make a big trade up from 16 to 6. They give up 16, 47, and a 2021 second to move up 10 spots and select the draft’s best CB.

7. Panthers – Isiah Simmons, LB, Clemson
The Panthers get a swiss army knife of a defender at 7. The question is what position can Simmons not play.

8. Cardinals – Tristan Wirfs, OT, Iowa
The Cardinals select the most athletic lineman in the draft to help keep one of the league’s most athletic QBs upright.

9. Bucs – Andrew Thomas, OT, Georiga
The Bucs trade ahead of the OT needy Browns to grab the last elite OT. The Bucs give up 14, 76, and a 2021 fourth round pick.

10. Broncos – Jerry Jeudy, WR, Alabama
With all of the elite OTs taken the Browns trade down, and the Broncos jump up to get their pick of the top WR prospects. The Broncos trade 15, and 83 to move up 5 spots

11. Jets – CeeDee Lamb, WR, Oklahoma
The Jets would’ve loved if one of the big four OTs fell to them, but they go with arguably the best WR in the draft.

12. Raiders – Henry Ruggs, WR, Alabama
The Raiders stay put and pick up my favorite WR of the draft, and in a very Raiders move the fastest WR in the draft.

13. Raiders – Justin Herbert, QB, Oregon
The Raiders make a move to grab the draft’s next QB. After a bit of a fall Herbert finds his team. If this happens look for the Raiders to recoup a second or third rounder for Derek Carr. The raiders give up 19, 80, and 81.

14. Jaguars – CJ Henderson, CB, Florida
The Jags traded down and pick the second best CB in the draft. After shedding a lot of defensive talent over the last 12 months the need fit and value work out here.

15. Browns – Derrick Brown, DL, Auburn
The Browns get a top 5 prospect at 15 with their selection of Brown.

16. Chargers – Jordan Love, QB, Utah St.
The Chargers trade down, acquire more picks, and get the QB of the future. Love can sit and learn from Tyrod Taylor for a time before starting.

17. Cowboys – Jeff Gladney, CB, TCU
A bit of a surprise move for the Cowboys here, but after losing Byron Jones in free agency they select to bolster their secondary.

18. Lions – K’Lavon Chaisson, EDGE, LSU
The Lions end up with the projected second best pass rusher in the draft here at 18. This feels like the Lions did something right, so I know it won’t work out.

19. 49ers – Javon Kinlaw, DL, South Carolina
The 49ers used the pick they received from the Buckner trade to acquire more picks and select the highest updside DT in the draft.

20. Jaguars – Patrick Queen, LB, LSU
The Jags continue their defensive overhaul with the best off-ball LB in this draft. Queen is a tackling machine.

21. Eagles – Justin Jefferson, WR, LSU
The Eagles fans are happy to get the fourth best WR and a much needed upgrade by staying put at 21.

22. Vikings – Laviska Shenault, WR, Colorado
The Vikes pick up their Diggs replacement with Shenault for fear of another WR run starting.

23. Patriots – Kenneth Murray, LB, Oklahoma
The Pats get the second best off-ball LB in the draft here.

24. Saints – Zach Baun, LB, Wisconsin
A little LB run here as the Saints grab Baun out of Wisconsin.

25. Vikings – Jaylon Johnson, CB, Utah
Vikes go CB with their second pick in the first round. This fills a need for the Vikes.

26. Lions – Trevon Diggs, CB, Alabama
After a mini LB run, we’re going on a mini CB run as the Lions select their Darius Slay replacement with Diggs.

27. Seahawks – Yetur Gross-Matos, DE, Penn St
The Seahawks stay put for once and grab a pass rusher since Jadaveon Clowney is not resigned.

28. Ravens – Cesar Ruiz, IOL, Michigan
With the retirement of Marshall Yanda the Ravens look to shore up the interior on the o-line. They do that with Ruiz here.

29. Titans – Joshua Jones, OL, Houston
With Jack Conklin gone, the value here with Jones is too good to pass up.

30. Packers – Cole Kmet, TE, Notre Dame
The Packers get the draft’s top TE to help Aaron Rodgers. With no real TE threat on the roster this shores up a big need for Green Bay.

31. Colts – AJ Epenesa, DL, Iowa
After trading for Buckner and giving up the thirteenth pick, the Colts and 49ers swap again. This time the Colts give up pick 34 and 122. This gives the 49ers one first, one second, two thirds, and a fourth after starting the day with two firsts and not another pick until the fifth round. The Colts further invest in their d-line with this pick.

32. Chiefs – Ross Blalock, DT, TCU
With the last pick in the first round the Chiefs pick Blalock here who could be a potential replacement for Chris Jones should he get traded.

Mock without trades
1. Bengals – Joe Burrow, QB, LSU
2. WPFT – Chase Young, DE, OSU
3. Lions – Jeff Okudah, CB, OSU
4. Giants – Mekhi Becton, OT, Louisville
5. Dolphins – Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Alabama
6. Chargers – Isiah Simmons, LB, Clemson
7. Panthers – Derrick Brown, DT, Auburn
8. Cardinals – Tristan Wirfs, OT, Iowa
9. Jacksonville – CJ Henderson, CB, Florida
10. Browns – Jedrick Wills, OL, Alabama
11. Jets – CeeDee Lamb, WR, Oklahoma
12. Raiders – Jerry Jeudy,WR, Oklahoma
13. 49ers – Henry Ruggs, WR, Alabama
14. Buccaneers – Andrew Thomas, OL, Georgia
15. Broncos – Justin Jefferson, WR, LSU
16. Falcons – K’Lavon Chaisson, EDGE, LSU
17. Cowboys – Javon Kinlaw, DL, South Carolina
18. Dolphins – Joshua Jones, OL, Houston
19. Raiders – Justin Herbert, QB, Oregon
20. Jaguars – D’Andre Swift, RB, Georgia
21. Eagles – Laviska Shenault, WR, Colorado
22. Vikings – Jaylon Johnson, CB, Utah
23. Patriots – Kenneth Murray, LB, Oklahoma
24. Saints – Jordan Love, QB, Utah State
25. Vikings – Tee Higgins, WR, Clemson
26. Dolphins – Jonathan Taylor, RB, Wisonsin
27. Seahawks – Yetur Gross-Matos, EDGE, Penn St.
28. Ravens – Patrick Queen, LB, LSU
29. Titans – Trevon Diggs, CB, Alabama
30. Packers – Jalen Reagor, WR, TCU
31. 49ers – Austin Jackson, OT, USC
32. Chiefs – Cesar Ruiz, IOL, Michigan
